Sometimes things get out of hand. Sometimes, at a tabletop game, you get an idea that won't go away, so you just kind of go with it. That is what happened here.
I'm almost sorry. Almost.
This is the Bumby briefly mentioned in the Ms Meadow
post. He is one of her three muses. A muse is like a digital personal assistant. They can do almost anything so long as it's not too complex and you can make them look however you want. The original Bumby once frolicked in the tall grass and flowers and was as sweet as a little deer could be. But the original was lost in the fall. New Bumby is made of stronger stuff. He was formerly a military AI designed for ship identification. Some parts of his former skin/identity were hard to shake off ... hence the cigar, the tie, the attitude, and the voice. (Really, the only possible choice for me when it came to how he sounds is H. Jon Bejamin ... Archer, Bob's Burgers ... it really completes this guy for me.)
This one really didn't take very long, and it didn't need to. I should do fun quick stuff more often. I usually like it better.
I am wholly aware that this is an extremely
derivative character. His influences are obvious, but that's what makes it funny to me.
Bambi (C) Disney
Bumby, the name originally spelled "Bumbie" comes from an Animaniacs cartoon called "Bumbie's Mom"
. I couldn't resist.
"Muse" is a creation of Posthuman Studios
in their game Eclipse Phase
