Employee of the Month

Yes, that is exactly what you think it is. Scott was a server at a TGI Saturday's. ~Eullogy-Enterprises and I were trying to think of what the perfect job would have been for him. We went through a lot of options. This one was brought up as a joke and stuck. But I am strangely comfortable with the thought of him singing one of those annoying birthday songs and thinking it was rad.

I want to talk a second about Scott.

He's an extremely odd character for me. I tend to stick with highly intelligent and sarcastic, if a bit jaded, individuals both male and female. It's what I understand. So Scott is a bit of a stretch for me.

He is many things I am not. Chiefly, he has a big helping of innocence and wonder about the world around him with no grasp of when someone is being sarcastic or not. He genuinely believes that people are good, that God is in His heaven and all is right with the world (even after the bombing), and that every single living thing is beautiful.

But the differences between us is why I *need* a character like Scott. What good am I if I only work with one kind of character? There is no challenge to it without the variety.

The spoiler in all of this is my promise that there is more to Scott than there appears. He has surprises for everyone ... even and especially himself. Remember, this happy nice-guy did something to get locked up in a criminal/mental facility ... even if he doesn't remember why.

Never underestimate a track star who knows his way around an axe!
