Happy Birthday !

This was *supposed* to be simple. But the art fairy had a different idea.

I have this little series where I draw my characters in a famous role their actors (either visual or vocal) played. Well, I was looking for something for Mark because I am in a Mark kind of mood. And while sifting through the various roles available to me, I found a picture of the actor who I have been told would play Iisjah right next to the guy who would play Mark ... those two are in a lot of films together. I saw the fantastic purple coat and I thought I'd really want an excuse to do this ... then I saw =iisjah's birthday was coming up. Excuse found! Yesss.

So this is Iisjah O'Riley as Jason Flemying playing Primus in Stardust. I know purple doesn't go with that red hair ... and I don't care!! I imagine Iisjah wouldn't care either. Why that face? Well, he has to be captain fancy with an easily-ruinable coat, with neatly combed hair and that beard!! It's not what he's used to. Also, it's a funny face. What I enjoy about drawing him is the freedom to play with expressions. I never feel weird about it. So it's great for me to get to have that kind of fun.

That pattern on the coat? Yeah, it's all hand drawn. Took me four hours and was worth every last minute. The Primus costume is adorned with the number 1 from top to bottom. All I have to say? At least it's not nine!!

I could draw Iisjah once a week and not get bored.
