Vane and Tabi

Commission.

These two are 's characters Vane and Tabi. I fell in love with the both of them in the course of reading some of her work. But that's the way it is with me ... I fall for those interesting folks doing more mundane things behind the main characters. Okay ... so it could have had something to do with him being a huge guy with long hair and a sword who falls for the outspoken, independent and beautifully curvy woman. Maybe ... heh.

Anyway. This one is long overdue. I originally agreed/asked for this commission way before the arm break thing and it's taken me this long to get to it ... for which I am horribly ashamed. It normally does *not* take me that long!

I am still very hot and cold about the background ... which is always the hardest part for me. You may remember those leaves. They came from an all painted (no lines!) border I did a long time ago. Here it has been cut, re-sized and repositioned to work better with the subjects. And I can't think of a piece, characters or commissioner who deserves it more.

What I am not upset about at all is the way they came out. It's sort of a snapshot of their earlier life ... before the main story begins. When they were still young-er. Perhaps when they were just married (where the heck was that dress on *my* day?), or just fallen in love with one another. I can't say for certain. It's not my story to write. But I *will* say I wish I came up with them!

Two of my favorite things ... big burly dude with great hair and a sword and a gorgeous curvy lady with attitude. How could I not love this?
