Blue Lady II by NuisanceBearEull Blue Lady II by NuisanceBearEull
It was asked after, so I decided to go through them. More pictures of the Blue Lady. The last one was all flat shapes and had a more graphic quality. This one is painted. I can't decided if it's good or rushed. But, either way, here it is.

I say it might be rushed because I got this one done fairly quickly. Less than 8 hours ... which is really very good for me. Last thing I did in this style took me at least three days.

***That bit where I wax on about the content and story***

The Blue Lady met Arthur when he was hunting in Gorsedd Territory. He mistook her for a nocturnal animal and shot her out of a tree. As she fell he realized she was not the animal he'd been tracking. Most men would have been afraid of her, what with having shot her and all, but Arthur is the kind of man who owns his mistakes. He pulled out the arrow and stayed with her. She was moved by his honesty and his sincerity and she chose him as a companion. They remained bound to one another (after a fashion) until life called him in a different direction. He hasn't seen her since the fall of Pazour.

She is said to have hair of blue flame and a robe made of the darkness between trees. Both achingly beautiful and profoundly ugly at the same time. With one eye of light and one eye of dark. She is said to travel alone in the form of predatory animals or as a lone woman in a blue cloak.

What is known for certain about her is that she is very lonely and anyone who would choose to be her companion, even for a night, is marked across the chest with her symbol and will have disastrous trouble with love in the future. These men are called The Marked and they appear all over space and time and are all changed for having known her and hearing her true voice.

The Marked:
Maxwell Yanatti
Warren Glyon
Kay'addrigan Gab'rien
Arthur Chase
Anton Xalveria (the current object of her attention)

She says little, asks even less of the people she protects, and is seen once every few hundred years. (This is only half true. She's usually around, but is disguised.) To see her as a blue star in the night is said to be incredibly good luck.

This is a copy of a painting of her by Arthur Chase that was, unfortunately, not recovered when Pazour was destroyed. In his spare time, of which there is precious little, Arthur has attempted to reconstruct it as best he can.

Marvelous. Very effective use of style. Her skin texture is well done, the hair is marvelously ephemereal and I would eat my left arm to have your sense of color and lighting.

I was thinking about her not too long ago, trying to picture her in my head and bam, you posted this. Its really something to see that face of her's in detail <3 There is still such a beautiful and ethereal sort of feel to her, but she seems wrapped in melancholy and its not just the fact that she's blue. Its the whisps of gold that seem to slowly fall around her, the way her hair faces out a the end. Its like you glimpsed her for only a moment before she completely faded away. Its hanting, and quite beautiful.

Lovely work <3

I remember you were one who had wanted to see more, and I thought it was worth exploring.
Poor Arthur really isn't sure he has it right. Not this time or last time ... but that's the trouble with trying to capture a person of her nature. She also has the nasty tendency to look completely different depending on who is looking.

Thanks very much!

It's good to see how each of the Marked translate their experiences with The Blue Lady. I like how Arthur painter her and the glowing lights and the two different eyes are captivating. That she looks like no other(ugly and beautiful at once) just makes it so achingly difficult to capture her true essence. I imagine that that would be the one thing each of the men must struggle with.

All of the Marked try to get it right. But they all get confused. It's even worse for the ones that aren't artistic at all. They have to try to get others to get it right.

Thanks much!

I kind of think I'm hiding behind light and color at the moment, but it's all in the name of practice.

She is an impressive individual. She looks (and her description sounds) like a fae. Not those little cutesy fairy things but a powerful being that is practically a force of nature with a personality.

If Ursula were more sensibly dressed. and her mass of tentacles weren't showing. It was the hair and face, mostly.

That's what I love about your DA submissions. They are pretty, skillfully woven pictures which are written and interlaced into a delightful universe/multiverse of excellent prose!

This is a stunning portrait and a very moving and touching story. She sounds like a great character with so much mystery going on in her life.
And the story of the Marked is really interesting as well and has so much sweet drama

Yeah, the stories of the Marked is about as romantic/dramatic as I get, I think. But we all have those stories hanging around.
