Souls of the Immortals

In the Eullniverse, Death didn't ask for this job. It was appointed to her at the retirement of the Death before her.

Before her ascension, Niecra possessed one talent that set her apart from anyone else. She could remove the soul of an Immortal from their body and carry it away, leaving the body a lifeless, though well-preserved husk. All she had to do was get within sight range of the immortal and call the soul to her. Say nothing of what she could do to mortals. She was known as the Immortal-Slayer long before she got her new job. Her services were only employed by gods, and always at her discretion. She was even called to other worlds when the Immortals there got too big for themselves.

It should be noted, however, that she cannot destroy a soul. But without a body and the ability to escape, it's not like the Immortal ever became an issue again. Those trapped in her limbo are not in pain. They are simply asleep, until they are given a new body ... which is an "if" depending on the Immortal.

Now as Death in many worlds and realms, she still has the souls of the Immortals. She could destroy them now if she wished. But she doesn't. She doesn't destroy any of them. She simply removes them from the mortal world to wherever they need to go.

At the end of time, Niecra will escort the gods from their worlds and close the door to the universe behind her.

... But other than that ... She's actually a really nice woman, with a love of anthropology, a taste for people watching, and a wicked/dry sense of humor. She can be tempted with her favorite foods, maybe not enough to give someone more time, but she'll certainly be grateful.

Right now, Niecra is bored. She is contemplating her job and her exponentially expanded view of the universe. Maybe waiting for Andy to come home. I don't know ... you can ask her if you want.
